Educational Audiologist
Qualifications:
Valid Colorado Certificate as an Educational Audiologist
Job Goals:

Description:
Provides a thorough evaluation and diagnosis of hearing ability and/or impairment. Acts as coordinator of hearing screenings in all BOCES-district schools as required by Colorado regulations. Oversees the screening to identify hearing disorders in children at regular intervals and at times as specified in the BOCES Special Education Comprehensive Plan. Performs retesting of children who do not pass screening tests. Also performs impedance testing at the time of the recheck (if indicated) and makes medical referrals when appropriate, according to established criteria. Monitors students (every 4-6 weeks) who continue to have fluctuating hearing loss due to middle-ear disease. Assists in appropriate referral of individuals with a hearing disorder to agencies and specialists in the community, as determined by the staffing/program planning team. Provides information, support and counseling to parents and families when appropriate. Assists in in-service training and attends professional meetings and conferences upon request of the Director of Special Education. Maintains lists of referred, screened and eligible children for state and federal reporting purposes. Adheres to federal and state procedural safeguards and confidentiality requirements and to those specified in the BOCES Special Education Comprehensive Plan. Informs building principals of parent communications, progress of children, and hearing guidelines provided to regular or special education teachers. Meets schedules at schools, notifying building principal when it is impossible to meet scheduled time. Fulfills any other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
Terms of Employment:
This is a part-time position, 92 days per year.

Special Education Teacher
Qualifications:
Prefer experience/training with children with autism, pervasive developmental disabilities and behavior disorders; requires a Bachelor or Masters degree is Special Education; must be eligible for Colorado teacher licensure, K-12.

Description:
Provide instruction t children with autism, multiple disabilities, moderate to severe learning and behavior problems in resource or self-contained classroom; Design and implement instructional programs to meet individual students needs based on a functional curriculum; Manage and supervise paraprofessional(s) in the delivery of instruction to students; Work with a collaborative team of professionals to include: speech, school psychology, health, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and social work.
Terms of Employment:
185 day per year contract.

Family Support Specialist
Qualifications:
Valid Colorado Certification as a School Social Worker.

To use home-school relation as a medium to help disabled students resolve personal, emotional, and social problems that interfere with their adjustment to school and their capacity to enjoy the fullest benefits of the education offered them.

Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
Qualifications:
Applicants are required to have or be in pursuit of a Master's Degree from an accredited university, and must hold or be eligible for a Colorado Educator License as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing.

Description:
Providing hearing-impaired pupils with special education services and supports that will enhance their academic skills and enable them to function maximally in the classroom, also entails assisting with resources and referrals, consulting with colleagues, students, and parents on a regular basis, assessment, and participation in Individual Education Plan meeting for students.
