BOCES provides a Mental Health Coordinator to participating districts within our consortium.  The overall goal is to help ensure our youth do not face mental health challenges alone.  To improve the quality and effectiveness of our school-based mental health system in providing mental health services to students throughout the districts we serve, and to improve the collaborative relationships between the student's families, teachers, school personnel, and clinicians.

Mental health is a state of well-being in which an individual realizes his/her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and is able to make a contribution to his/her community.

Mental health refers to our cognitive, behavioral, and emotional well-being.

It is all about how we think, feel, and behave. The term 'mental health' is sometimes used to mean an absence of a mental disorder. Mental health can affect daily life, relationships, and even physical health.
