Northeast Colorado BOCES

At NE BOCES, our BOCES members do become a part of their school families at the locations they provide services in. Ms. Kate (a speech language pathologist) teamed up with Ms. V, the Life Skills teacher at Peetz School to take a high school student on a trip to Walmart. They completed a scavenger hunt for finding hygiene and house cleaning items. Ms. Kate and Ms. V have been working together during first quarter with their student to talk about healthy living habits, studying vocabulary, and answering questions. The student also got to practice approaching an employee and asking for assistance, ordering food at a restaurant , and counting money. It takes a village, and at NE BOCES our service providers enjoy forming relationships with students and staff alike to promote skills beyond the classroom.’
